1, Choosing a web hosting solution:

Most people ask which blog hosting platformthat would really be fitting for my project? When you want to design a site youshould first ask yourself of what purpose do I want to create this site? Whatbenefit do I want to achieve? Does this hosting plan work with my concept outline?
Alright! you should know this, that on buying this book you wanted to utilize your
blog for monetization purposes and to do so we are going to use Google’s
www.blogspot.com to host your site. you can have your blog in the third party
URL form like www.bloggertexter.blogspot.com or you can still choose to upgrade
your blogs URL to www.bloggertexter.com whichever way you want your blog to
look.
In this book you would be taught how to by yourself design an exquisite and
exclusive website and how to buy and point your domain to your blogger blog,
such that it looks like a Wordpress or Joomla hosted design . But the difference
between blogger hosted and Wordpress/Joomla is that blogger does not host
contents (music, video) files. But what’s the need to have a multifunctional
website that you cannot manage on your own. That the search engine
optimization is poorly configured, probably it could even take you a fortune to hire
a pro to tremendously work on the SEO. Just like www.extremeloaded.com which
was a Wordpress hosted site. Blogger hosted sites are the best to configure for
SEO not only because it’s been hosted by Google but it has a simple and detailed
configuration setting option. BlogSpot being part of Google cooperation is an
added advantage for blogger to use www.blogspot.com for proper search engine
optimization. That is why am pointing my tutorials for blogger edition.

2, Blog name and responsive design

Choosing a blog name is as important as anything you can think of because the
first approach to SEO is the blog name and title entered in the Meta data
description of your template design. Therefore without a suitable blog name that
is highly good for optimization; your blog wouldn’t make it in the 1st page or 1-5
pages in Google’s PR (Page Rank).
Therefore citing a good name for your blog is very important.

3, How to optimize your blog for search engines (SEO)

First of all I would recommend you to do a search on Google of the name you
want to use. If the name already exist or there is competition with the name
phrase try changing it to another, don’t just choose a name because it’s your
name or the name of something you want or love. Try sorting out a name that
best describes what your blog is all about. Forget that Linda Ikeji used her name
as a blog name. Defining your own blog name by the contents you provide gives
it an edge and makes it look and feel authentic and ideal. Like mine for instance
blogger tester is a classified blog that is about education and technology based
information and when I did my own research and after much pros and cons I
figured out INFOTANUS was ideal. And ASAP I bought the domain name and
mapped it to my already made www.kerrsoft.blogspot.com blog and believe me
when you Google infotanus on net. you would get blogger testers listed on
Google’s first and second page and other sites that has my links on them because
I utilized the blog name and bought several domain names ranging from my
custom domain www.infotanus.com.ng to 3rd party’s hosted domain. Thus
making my sites Google –able and PR worthy.
Let me also share this hidden trick used to search for unpopular domain names.
The reason you should choose the very unpopular ones is this; you would have no
competition as regards to domain name searches on Google. Let us assume you
bought a domain name like www.yahoo.edu.ng knowing full well that yahoo is
already a registered domain name and has occupied everywhere on the web with
its domain and sub-domains and someone wants to visit your own yahoo site
because he wants to get information on a particular educational post you updated
and did not know the full site id and decides to just type yahoo on Google search.
It’s very-very likely that on Google’s first to 100th page that your own site does
not appear. you may think am just over rating this issue. Yes yahoo has occupied
all over the web because it has its links all over hundreds of thousands and
millions of website worldwide, therefore those site carrying yahoo’s web links has
to appear 1st immediately after the original yahoo site respectively and then your
own appears. Mind you nobody has the time to keep looking for your blog from
page to page. Once you are not found on the 1st to 3rd page at worst 5th just
forget about it. you would be thrown out of the competition ASAP thereby making
it very hard for you to stream loads of traffic, and you know your source of
revenue depends on the amount of traffic you are able to generate either weekly
or monthly.
Now try to choose domain names that have little or no relevance on the internet
search terms and believe me it would pay you off. Even if your blog followers
have issues mapping out your blog site directly from the URL they still can
browse through, using Google search and finding you site on the no.1 site on the
first page. Now let go straight to the mapping a suitable domain name tricks
1. Enter www.adwords.google.com/keywordplanner
2. Login with your Google id and password in the Sign In section.
3. Choose the countries or counties in the country you wish to target it could also
be worldwide.
4. Input the name phrase you would like to use on the box provided.
5. Click on search.
Just wait after some seconds the program would show you on a chart form
ranging from January to December the number of times people have searched for
that word or phrase on Google monthly. If the number of times that word or
phrase has being searched on Google is below 1000 on monthly searches you
should consider that word or phrase ideal as a blog name.
· RESPONSIVE design
When talking about a responsive design I mean a template design that has full
option functionality that has:-
1. Being designed for search engine optimization.
2. Proper Meta data options for blog title, blog description and blogs keyword
search phrases.
3. Portable layout (columns, header and footer style).
4. Fast page loading speed.
5. Low space and bandwidth consumption.
6. Being designed to be mobile friendly.
7. Being properly designed to accommodate various blog menus and sub menu
and finally
8. A beautifully looking appearance.

5, HOW TO design A BLOGGER HOSTED BLOG

This is where the work starts, try to pay much attention because it’s not easy to
read from a book and work alone without someone guiding you, so I’m going to
make this tutorial be worth the while and believe me you would not need to hire
someone or pay someone a lofty amount of money to fix your blog for you on air.
These are the gradual steps needed to be able to design a website.
1. Log on to www.blogger.com
2. If you already have a Google account sign in but if you don’t have sign up.
3. you would see a box that requires your blog title. Fix the tile of your blog there.
Please not something like www.bloggertexter.blogspot.com. It’s something like
this ‘blogger tester the no.1 gurus blog in Nigeria’
4. After signing up you would be required to choose a name for your blog. E.g. If
your blogs name is bloggertexter, in the empty box you would be required to only
put bloggertexter and it would search for availability and once its available, you
would be congratulated and your blog URL would now be
www.bloggertexter.blogspot.com .
5. The next that follows after is the blog template, although the available template
blogger has is not ideal, you would have to choose any one first to continue with
the registration and later on the templates and other changes would be made.
Ethereal is the name of the template you should choose from. After that your blog
is ready.
Now the first thing you should do first is start setting up your blog for SEO. But
first this is how the layout of the newly created blog looks like, so if your own is
looking extremely different then you aren’t doing it right.
The next stage is adding your website to Google webmaster console: this is done
to alert Google web crawler that your URL is now available online and should
include your blog to their index. NEXT STEP NOW BRINGS US TO
How to optimize your blog for search engines (SEO)
1. Login to www.google.com/webmaster and you should see what looks like
thisClick on ADD A PROPERTY
2. Input your URL into the box provided and click on CONTINUE
After that you would be required to verify your site ownership and thus a Google
verification code would be required to be input into your blogger template HTML
Designer to be clear. Click on the ALTERNATE METHODS and choose HTML tag
and copy the code highlighted.
3. Go back to your blogger and click on TEMPLATE and click on EDIT HTML after
that Click inside the template and hold your CTRL+F and a search box would appear
input this code <head> and hit Enter and you would see the <head> tag
highlighted in yellow. Just right under the <head> tag input your Google
verification Meta tag code and Save Template.
4. Next is submitting your sitemap to Google, A sitemap is a file where you can
list the web pages of your site to tell Google and other search engines about the
organization of your site content. Search engine web crawlers like Googlebot read
this file to more intelligently crawl your site.
Now if the URL of you site is, take for example, using this blogger test page
www.bloggertexter.blogspot.com suffix /sitemap.xml to the current web address
and click on submit.NOTICE: Please note that this section is just an introductory
part an is still incomplete. it still has lots of mentoring to do for this SEO section
and its very very complicated unless you have the full book or guide. One silly
mistake can rip you off your work for ever!!

Correction after tutorial

Good work but for you to improve you have to be criticised,
Work on the width of your page in CSS, you must have used a Pixel value instead
of percentage thus making your page too wide and so users with laptops smaller
than what you used to design the site will have to scroll left and right regularly.
Your CSS should be cleaned up, work on a color pattern. On the site i can see
blue, wine, black, white even your logo is yellow. Learn to follow design principles
since you know how they work.
Page speed is another thing, the website is slow, you can measure the speed of
your site on a speedometer (lol, no...use google to check some websites that
measure site speed, I think google themselves have a tool for that.) just remove
your javascript from your markup, create another file for it...maybe global.js and
use external linking for it..
And is anyone really looking at their inspector panel?? that's what you should all
be looking at, the method you are using for your slider can be improved too... and
your HTML could be shotter with all the long and unnecessary mark up i'm looking
at, except if you used a framework or so.. why do you have all your div's classed
as containers? these are things you should look into.
That's all i can say, but my extra suggestions are you work on your footer and
dude give your sliders a heading or a meaning, No one wants to see cars floating
around!
**Note: Next time don't say your age, tell us what you did and we can check it
out and give you a thumbs up, you being seventeen doesn't mean you can't even
code facebook. (Just saying tho)
** And a big thumbs up for getting that site done, all the way from your pc up to
the hosting platform for the world to see.. Many have given up on what you did ..
Kudos and i hope you take my advice and work harder!
